Connecting case wires to the motherboard.
Categories: Bill Babbitt
The science club kids continued on with their computer assembly project today, successfully connecting the wires from the case to the motherboard. This was really a significant achievement and I’m very proud of them for the work they did. Jasmine acted as guide reading the wiring diagram, and everyone else had the opportunity to connect at least one wire from the case to the board. Using the directions and no assistance from me, they worked cooperatively in a very confusing environment. Wire colors of course mean nothing to the kids, they had to rely on the preprinted abbreviations on each wire connector. Things like ‘HD’ for hard drive light were a challenge, but they each rose to the challenge and it was great to watch them do so.
